Boa Vista: ACLCC and local body lament “poor men participation” of on Blue November walk

Sal Rei, Nov 22 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Association for Fight Against Cancer (ACLCC) and Boa Vista local body lamented the poor men participation in the Blue November walk which took place Sunday on a route through the city of Sal Rei street.

The ACLCC leaders and its local body as well as the participants in the Blue November walk made this observation to the media on the sidelines of the activity organized for the fourth time on the Boa Vista Island, to raise awareness among men about prostate cancer.

The president of ACLCC, Cornélia Pereira, stressed the importance of this type of walking, which in her view help to bring information to the whole community about the concern to prevent the disease with screening.

“We expected to have more men, because we continue to have more and more women than men in marches,” she noted, indicating that we must continue to work on raising awareness among men.
