Sal Rei, Jun 12 (Inforpress) – The Brazilian Association for Support and Development of Art-Capoeira (Abadá Capoeira) held this Sunday at the Center for Art and Culture (CAC), in the city of Sal Rei, the 14th baptism and ropes exchange of 40 children and ten adults.
Speaking to Inforpress, the head of the Abadá Capoeira Boa Vista school, Anderson da Cruz, said this year the event was simple not to miss the moment has “a great meaning” for capoeiria c, especially so that the children who have been training do not lose motivation.
“I was very happy to be able to hold this event considering that I have been working only with children at Academia Abada Capoeira, and I have not been doing capoeira work in other locations,” he said, justifying that this year there was a reduction in the number of baptisms and rope exchanges compared to previous years.
According to the responsible, baptism in capoeira is a ceremony “very important” in the life of a capoeira practitioners, because it is when the student acquires his first rope, and this event has no religious connotation, while the exchange of rope happens according to the progression of capoeira practitioners.
