Praia, Apr 1 (Inforpress) – Under the theme “Assistive technologies, active participation”, the Association of Parents and Friends of Children and Young People with Special Needs marks the World Autism Awareness Day with a program to raise awareness among people on the subject.
The date, observed on April 2, according to the Colmeia president told Inforpress, has a program which runs until the 16th and includes lectures, awareness raising and a Blue Day, a request from the association for all nationals to wear a blue piece of clothing on Tuesday, showing their solidarity with the autistic.
To this day, according to explained Isabel Moniz, is expected to hold, from 4:00 p.m., in the presidential palace, a meeting of awareness and clarification with families and people interested in learning more about autism.
“Autism needs to be noticed. Inclusion comes through this representation and families suffer without knowing what to do to improve the quality of life of their children. For more information and less prejudice, the unknown gives fear and the differences exist, we need to accept them and demand better conditions of life and integration”, she said.
