Praia, April 20 (Inforpress) – Jose Veiga, president of the Specialized Commission on Finance and Budget (CEFO), accused the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Santos, of “gross and illegitimate” interference in the commission’s functioning.
At a press conference this morning, Jose Veiga, who is also a PAICV’s MP, the main opposition party, said that “this is a concerted maneuver with MpD to boycott the hearing of the chairman of the TACV board of directors.”
Concerned is the order that Jorge Santos gave to a letter that MPs of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) sent to the president of AN requesting the postponement of the hearing of the TACV’s PCA, previously scheduled for 2:30 PM on Wednesday, 19th, without the Commission having met to deliberate on the matter at hand.
“The President of the AN, in an illegitimate manner, without any articulation with the committee and its president, makes an order that consummates the boycott with the postponement of the hearing to the TACV’s PCA, without deigning to acquaint either the commission or the Technicians of the assembly that support this commission,” he said.
