Praia, May 3 (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean international long distance runner William dos Santos ended his participation in the under-20 African Championship in Ndola, Zambia 2023, with the 13th place in the 5,000 meters event with the brand from 15.09.35 minutes.
“The results exceeded all expectations, for the positive, and left interesting clues about the evolutionary trends of the athlete in the future,” says the Cape Verdean Athletics Federation, in its press release.
The young athlete from Santo Antão, who was in this World Cup accompanied by coach Eliseu Fortes, made his debut this Sunday at the African Under-18 and Under-20 Championships in the 1,500 meters event, in which he ranked 17th.
“This is how future champions are prepared. Let’s fight Willian, we are all with you in this fight…”, said the national federation in its communication to the press.
