Athletics: Ultra-marathon national team of Cabo Verde wins 24-hour competition in Germany

 

Praia, Aug 29 (Inforpress) – Ultra-marathon national team of Cabo Verde won the 24-hour ultra-marathon competition on Sunday, placing the three athletes of its delegation on the podium.

José Cabral, the first classified covered the distance of 200 kilometers after the 24 hours of the race, Augusto Gama qualified in second place by traveling 198 kilometers, and Nataniel Moreira with 194 kilometers completed the podium which was filled by Cabo Verdean athletes.

In statements to Inforpress, José Cabral explained that the itinerary was set up by 1.000 meters, of which 200 on clay, 500 in grass and 300 of tartan, and the main problems met have to do with the three days of travel to the city where the race took place in addition to two showers throughout the night.

The three athletes selected by the Cabo Verdean Athletics Federation were on the ground with the support of Italian coaches Laura and Giaocomino.
