Athletics: Orlando Tavares and Jailson Oliveira make their debut in the 100-kilometer Ultramarathon in Portugal today

Praia,  Sep 29 (Inforpress) – Emicela Team Cabo Verde athletes Orlando Tavares and Jailson Oliveira make their debut today in the 12th edition of the 100 kilometer Ultramarathon, of the Grande Trail da Serra d’Árga, in Portugal, an event in which the Country participates with 12 athletes.

A prova arranca hoje com partida em Vila Nova de Cerveira, com meta volante ao quilómetro 19, na Ponte Medieval, sendo que no sábado, 30, inicia-se o Ultra Trail nos 45 quilómetros, considerada a prova rainha no município de Caminha e da qual e Emicela Team Cabo Verde vai concorrer com António Veiga e Walter Araújo.

On Sunday 1 October, the remaining races will continue, with Cape Verdean athletes Edena Lima, Eliseu Morais, Milly Brito and Wilson Cabral competing in the long trail (27 kilometres), while Quelton Lomba, Edy Moreno, Liliana Medina and Elérise Mendes will compete in the short trail (17 kilometres)

The 12 Emicela Team Cabo Verde athletes selected for this competition in Portugal come from the sports regions of Santiago, Fogo, Brava, São Vicente, Santo Antão and São Nicolau.
