Athletics: Cabo Verde takes seven athletes to Tunisia in search of qualification to Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

Praia, Feb 23 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde goes to “Grand Prix” of Tunisia, which takes place from March 15 to 22, with seven athletes, headed by worldists Gracelino Barbosa and Márcio Fernandes, two guides and two managers / coaches, to seek paralympic qualification for Tokyo 2020.

Gracelino Barbosa, Carlos Araújo and Anderson Delgado, Keula Semedo and Heidilene Oliveira will compete in track disciplines, notably in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, while Márcio Fernandes and Marilson Semedo will compete in the dart and discus throwing disciplines.

According to information gave by the National Stadiumn management, the resident Paralympic athletes, Heidilene Oliveira, from São Vicente, Marilson Semedo and Anderson Delgado (Santiago) began the three-week preparation training, under the guidance of their coach in this sports infrastructure, in Achada de São Filipe, “with all the EN support, helping in everything that can improve the conditions of preparation”.

“The National Stadium, the home of Cabo Verdean sport, is always open to support our athletes and the development of National sport. Go champions go! Cabo Verde always supports you,” state the national stadium’s communication.
