Armed Forces pay tribute to 11 victims of the Monte Tchota massacre

Praia, Apr 20 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Armed Forces will pay tribute to the 11 victims of the Monte Tchota massacre in the municipality of Sao Domingos placing a plaque with their names on the location in this first Anniversary.

The announcement was made in statements to Inforpress by the National Guard commander, Lieutenant Colonel Armindo Sa Nogueira Miranda, who said that the homage will take place on April 25 at a ceremony in the military detachment of Monte Tchota, Sao Domingos, contryside of the Santiago Island, where everything happened.

According to the second man ahead of the Armed Forces (FA), the families of all the victims have already been invited to participate in the homage, and regardng to military’s families from others islands the FA will pay for the trip, remembering that of the three Civilians who served on the antennas of that telecommunications center, two were Spanish.

“We are preparing, together with the Ministry of Defense, a tribute with dignity for the late military, and the conditions have already been created so that relatives can go to the place to take part in the ceremony where a plaque will be uncovered with the names of the victims, “he explained.
