Praia, Jan 26 (Inforpress) – The National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde (ANMCV) Monday proposed to the Ombudsman the creation of a framework for cooperation and work to accelerate the process of integrating immigrants and resolve pending.
ANMCV President Herménio Fernandes, who spoke to journalists moments before meeting with the Ombudsman, assured that the Government, the association and the Ombudsman are already working to minimize the problems immigrants are experiencing.
“There are some challenges that need to be overcome when it comes to integrating our immigrants. The partnership with the Ombudsman, an entity has received complaints from immigrants will allow the creation of a framework for cooperation and a work agenda that will aim to accelerate the process of resolving these pending issues”, he said.
Herménio Fernandes said there are already contacts with some institutions and considered that with the involvement of the High Authority for Emigration, Directorate of Emigration and Borders, Ombudsman and City Halls it will be possible to solve the problems affecting immigrants, since Cabo Verde is an “open country to the world” and with a vast community spread across the world.
