Praia, Mar 28 (Inforpress) – The President of the Municipal Assembly of Praia (AMP), Clara Marques, defended, in the city of Praia, the need to adopt assertive public policies to ensure the women’s empowerment in Cabo Verde.
The local politician who spoke during a meeting promoted by the PAICV East Sector of Praia, with the women from Achada Mato, stressed that since independence successive Governments bet on education as a national goal.
This option, according to Clara Marques, brought many gains to the country, also allowing women to make a qualitative leap and gain space in society.
“Today we have women entrepreneurs, women MPs, women ministers,” she said, indicating, however, that there are still a number of women who still face various difficulties in their daily lives.
