Praia City, Apr. 13 (Inforpress) – The artists who performed on Wednesday night, April 12, at the Atlantic Music Expo (AME) 2023, which takes place in the Cape Verdean capital, came off the stage “marveled” with the “warm reception” from the public, anticipating new opportunities.
The penultimate night of the 9th edition of AME kicked off at 6:40 p.m. on Pedonal Street, one of the event’s stages, with Portuguese singer Cristina Clara, who is participating for the first time, and who closed her repertoire with the morna ‘Força di Cretcheu’, by Eugénio Tavares, in “homage and gratitude” to the Cape Verdean references.
“I feel very connected to Cape Verde (…), I have many Cape Verdean friends, musicians whom I immensely admire and who have influenced me a lot and with whom I have composed and developed works, and so coming to Cape Verde now to present my music is an honor and an immense emotion,” said Cristina Clara.
She, who dared to sing in Creole, expressed her gratitude for the affection she received from the public, admitting that she was a little afraid of how she would be received.
