Praia, Jun 14 (Inforpress) – The Atlantic Music Expo (AME) 2022, which kicked off on Friday, the 10th, in Mindelo, “landed” on Monday, the 13th, in its home town, Praia, in its eighth edition, after two years of stopping due to the pandemic.
The opening ceremony, in the National Assembly, was chaired by the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente, on a night with speeches of the Director of AME, Gugas Veiga, the representative of the AME sponsors, João Domingos Correia, president of Cabo Verde Telecom, and the Councilman of Culture at the City Hall of Praia, Jorge Garcia.
After the speeches the stage was “taken” by the band Os Tubarões, presented as one of the most outstanding musical groups in the history of music in Cabo Verde, which has recorded seven albums of originals and an album recorded live in the mythical room of the Coliseu dos Recreios de Lisboa (Portugal).
The stage of this first night of the eighth edition of AME, in Praia, was closed by the Benin Serge Anano, who, in addition to his guitar, was accompanied by his group, in a moment of eclectic music, mixing rhythms and songs from West Africa.
