Praia, Mar 8 (Inforpress) – The Lusophone Renewable Energy Association (ALER) launches this women’s month a “collaborative financing” campaign to offer energy to local communities in Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe and Guinea-Bissau, boosting projects created by women entrepreneurs.
The objective, as informed this Wednesday, the organization to Inforpress, is to contribute and support the local projects of women entrepreneurs who are candidates for the Sustainable Energy Program for Women, which took place between February and July 2022.
The Sustainable Energy Program for Women had as its main objective the empowerment and training of women in São Tomé and Príncipe, Cape Verde and Guinea Bissau, in order to promote gender equality and equity in the development of the energy sector, according to with the commitment assumed by ALER with the Gender and Energy Compact.
This initiative was developed by ALER with the support of the United Nations Organization for Industrial Development (UNIDO) and the Directorate General for Natural Resources and Energy (DGRNE) of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Natural Resources (MOPIRNA), and emerged within the scope of the Project “Strategic Program for the Promotion of Investments in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector of São Tomé and Príncipe”.
