Praia, Feb 15 (Inforpress) – The men’s basketball team from Cabo Verde is already in Monastir (Tunisia) with 13 athletes preparing for the inaugural game with Morocco, scheduled for this Thursday, 18th, corresponding to the second qualifying for Afrobasket 2021.
The Creole team will have 13 athletes called up by the national coach Emanuel “Mané” Trovoada, one part from the training stage in Tarrafal de Santiago and the other one consisting of athletes who are in Europe, with their eyes upon on qualifying for Rwanda.
According to the schedule, Cabo Verde will debut at this stage on Thursday, at 9:00 AM against Morocco, and then on Saturday, 20th, at the same time against Egypt to end the stage in the clash against Uganda, scheduled for the 12:00 PM on Sunday, 21st.
According to the FIBA-Africa regulations, the top three in each group qualify automatically for Afrobasket 2021 to be played in Rwanda.
