ADEVIC distributes about 40 glasses to help combat preventable blindness

Praia,  Dec 20 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Association of the Visually Impaired (ADEVIC) distributed around 40 glasses on Thursday to help prevent blindness, the organization’s president confirmed, adding that the goal is to continue with these actions.

Speaking to the press, Marciano Monteiro explained that this donation is a “big goal” that ADEVIC has, which is the fight against preventable blindness, because he understands that the fewer eye health problems in Cabo Verde results in lower the demands to association and national health officials.

“Therefore, within this objective we have achieved a partnership that is helping us to distribute glasses to low-income people,” added the official, adding that they will serve to “minimize their suffering”.

ADEVIC, said its chairman, has been trying, wherever possible, to achieve that objective of combating preventable blindness.
