Praia, Mar 22 (Inforpress) – The president of the Association for the Defense of the Environment (ADAD), Januário Nascimento, today drew attention to the need for greater mobilization of water in the country, as well as promoting good practices in the treatment of this good.

In an interview with Inforpress to mark World Water Day, which is celebrated on March 22, Januário Nascimento explained that ADAD will release a manifesto to draw the authorities’ attention to the need to mobilize water, both for agriculture and to combat food insecurity.

“Water is a human right, we want to create initiatives through programs related to water to fight food insecurity and soon the fight against hunger”, he said.

On the other hand, he recalled that Cape Verde is now in its fifth consecutive year of drought, and urges measures that can provide answers to the problem, also asking for the participation of the whole society and international partners.
