ADAD calls for Government’s greater agility and greater collaboration in the conservation of the oceans

Praia, Jun 9 (Inforpress) – The president of the Association for The Defense of Environment and Development (ADAD), Januário Nascimento, asked the Government on Wednesday, in Praia, greater agility and greater collaboration with civil society institutions for the conservation and protection of the oceans.

Januário Nascimento was speaking to the press on the sidelines of activities alusing World Oceans Day with the fundamental objective of drawing attention to the conservation of the Oceans held by ADAD in greeting to the World Conference on Oceans to be held in Lisbon in June 2022.

“I leave a very strong appeal to the Cabo Verdean and international community to take care about oceans so that they do not throw away garbage as has been done so far in the oceans. But we need the Government to be more agile, there is more collaboration with civil society institutions, particularly companies, and we keep our ocean for the good of humanity,” he said.

In order to make further progress on the preservation of the Ocean, the president of this environmental NGO argued, first of all, that the Government itself must be aware of this issue and it can also make the financial and human resources available to support.
