Praia, Sep 5 (Inforpress) – The Minister Abraão Vicente has asked the Ministry of Finance to intervene in the auditing of the accounts of the Cape Verdean Society of Music (SCM) and the Cape Verdean Society of Authors (Soca) with a view to ensuring transparency in the use of private copying money.
The head of the Culture and Creative Industries portfolios made the announcement to the press after the opening of the Council of the Ministry he heads, which was attended by leaders and presidents of the ministry’s institutes and directorates and whose purpose is to analyse the activity plan of the Culture and Creative Industries portfolio, as well as the projection for 2024.
Abraão Vicente reinforced that the Institute for Quality and Intellectual Property Management (IGQPI) was asked to inspect the representation contract that the two entities represent.
“At this moment we do not have the full perspective of how the money from the private copy that we distribute to institutions is used and I have already asked the IGQPI, as there have been trainings, that users need to have access to the minutes and assemblies that establish the prices”, explained.
