“A Ponte” Association defends mental health literacy and equal opportunity for social classes

Praia, Oct 11 (Inforpress) – The president of the A Ponte Association, José António dos Reis, today defended the need to promote mental health literacy in schools and equal opportunities to avoid creating gaps between segments of the population.

He defended this position in an interview with Inforpress on World Mental Health Day on October 10, and he stressed that this year’s theme “Mental Health in an Unequal World” warns of the need to promote more equality and less a gap between those who have everything on one side and the other who have nothing.

In the view of that association’s president, the unequal world does not contribute to mental health, so he advocated, it is necessary the leaders at the global level reflect on the importance of the development of the economy, but with an inclusive perspective.

He highlighted the importance of celebrating this date which he considered to be an important component of human health, noting that there are no health and no healthy societies without mental health.
