Praia, Apr 1 (Inforpress) – The 10th Cabo Verde Music Award (CVMA) edition will only award the works published in 2020, thus excluding those of 2019, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic, had no opportunity to be awarded last year.
The information was forwarded Thursday to the press, in Praia, by CVMA president, Dilza Soulé, during the presentation of the new CVMA regulation and the jury, which will select the works in competition.
For the 10th CVMA edition, under the theme “A decade awarding our music”, all works launched and released from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 will be in competition, she informed.
“2020 was an atypical year for everyone. It was not possible to hold the gala, but the music did not stop, many songs were made (…) and released. Now, it’s 2021 and thank God it looks like we’ll be able to hold the gala, but we can’t take two years to contest and unfortunately 2019 is without awards”, she explained.
