Lisbon, Jul 10 (Inforpress) - Rúben Traquino, a militant of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) in Portugal, has submitted a formal complaint to the party's National Council of Jurisdiction asking for the provisional suspension of the internal elections scheduled for 20 July.
In the document delivered on Monday 7th to the National Council of Jurisdiction of the MpD in Portugal, the activist alleged ‘serious violations of the principles of legality, equality, transparency and impartiality’ in the electoral process underway in the party's structure in this European country.
The young politician denounced various ‘irregularities and illegalities’ committed in the process to elect the Political Committees of the Municipalities and Communities, such as the lack of official publication of the electoral timetable, preventing hundreds of activists from having the right to information, and the lack of equal access to electoral information, with documents only being shared with restricted groups.
Among the situations reported were conflicts of interest, in particular the family relationship between the chair of the ADoC Commission, Benvinda Oliveira, and the sole candidate Emanuel Barbosa, and undisclosed electoral rolls which, according to him, contain the names of deceased activists or those who are physically unable to vote
